thurmanmunson
Upmann Conn #1 Hermoso #4: 5" x 48 rg Got this in a sampler of smokes from 04. Feels SOFT from cap to foot. Draw: LOOSE cedar/tobacco 1st 3rd: Toasted tobacco/sweet cedar underneath 2nd 3rd: The same/ with the sweet cedar becoming more dominant here and there I let it go out at the last 3rd. I did smoke this extra-slow because of the draw and the smoke had nice flavors, had one draw with a real nice cream with the sweet cedar underneath, but the loose draw takes away most of the enjoyment for me. It left a stinging feeling in my mouth. I've noticed this same "sting" with other underfilled smokes. It makes my mouth dry and just uncomfortable. I'm curious about other's experiences and thought's on underfilled/loose drawing smokes. I'm starting to think I should toss em.

Colt45
No doubt that construction can have quite an impact on flavor. I've also found that under filled and / or loose drawing cigars tend to be hollow in terms of flavor, with a sharp finish. Thanks for the review! mbrody
Rob, I have some 04 Connie 1's and they too have a loose draw. I've learned to pitch the ones that are just too loose, and smoke the ones that are a bit firmer in construction. Sadly, the best ones are just as you described in your review. Good Job! aavkk
I'll echo others and insist that you give the 08's a shot. They are very smokable now and will develop into classics!
