i know almost nothing about this bloke personally - other than his football ability - but just got a video (i suspect it has probably done the rounds in the states) which suggests he has a seriously good sense of humour. have emailed it to rob and smithy to see if they can overcome the technical hurdles that prevent me from posting.

anyone know much about him off the field?

I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan but, the Colts are my second choice team because of Peyton Manning. Not only is he probably one of the best NFL quarterbacks of all time, he seems like a real stand-up guy and, yes, he is freakin hilarious! He has many television commercials that air here in the states and most are usually pretty comical. He has also done a few commercials with his younger brother Eli (also an NFL quaterback, New York Giants....in case you didn't know) and the two of them together are equally as amusing. Just my opinion....I'm sure you'll get several more. It seems that most people either love him, or hate him.

I love that skit from SNL! I almost lost bodily fluid function from laughing so hard!

I've been following his playing career since his freshman year at Tennessee. I lived in Knoxville for five years, so naturally a big UT fan. I remember his first television appearance, either a halftime or post game interview during his first game against UCLA. He sounded like a young hick with a thick Southern accent. You can tell he was nervous. He has since come a long ways in improving his charisma.

Peyton is well loved and respected here in Indianapolis. Hope he stays on after retirement.
