Lotus400 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Enjoyed over 3 hours of Bruce and his band last night. I do not know how the man does it, the energy he creates is palpable. They played the Born to Run album start to finish, along with many other fan favorites. My friend and I had general admission tickets and stood for roughly five hours (doors opened at 6:00pm, Bruce was on from 8:15 to 11:15) on the floor of the auditorium. I will be turning 50 this Thursday and my back, feet, legs, whole body really reminded me last night that I am not a young man anymore. Worth the pain and suffering - ABSOLUTELY.
Bahnofstrasse Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Enjoyed Bruce seeing him many times at the Spectrum while growing up in Philly. Born to Run album conjures up some great memories of my youth. I have since abandoned listening to Bruce anymore as he has gotten a bit to political for my likening. He puts on a great show that's for sure.
Ken Gargett Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 massively envious. had heard he was playing some of his albums from start to finish. on his last aussie tour he played jungleland in brizzy and backstreets in melbourne. it is absolutely completely impossible to attend a bruce concert and not come away a total fan forever. the shakespeare of the 20th century and beyond...
Ken Gargett Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 ahh, colt, if only you had a real job and could put all that humour and creativity to use. and you are a brave man to involve chopper!
hellring Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I am going to see Bruce at Madison Square Garden in two weeks!! Great to hear the good reviews from fellow FOH'ers before the show. .
Colt45 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 ahh, colt, if only you had a real job and could put all that humour and creativity to use. and you are a brave man to involve chopper! Thank you mister kettle. If you haven't yet seen the video, Lisa can clue you in to the chopper reference.
Ken Gargett Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 colt, i'd like to argue the job debate with you but if i don't get going, i'll be late for lunch with the winemaker from veuve clicquot. jimmy, i think that there are only two things on which we disagree and one is bruce. have you been to a concert? it would surely convert you. i suspect i might not be able to convert you on the other. that also goes for colt.
Colt45 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 colt, i'd like to argue the job debate with you but if i don't get going, i'll be late for lunch with the winemaker from veuve clicquot. I know, it's a tough job....... But seriously, I don't hate Springsteen or even dislike him. I don't mind hearing one of his songs on the radio, but I can't sit and listen to a whole album - which is good because I don't own one. But Shakespeare? I think that's a bit of a stretch. Bob Marley - maybe. But here we reach an impasse - if I recall correctly, you don't much care for reggae - though if rumors are true, you don't mind getting rastafide!
Ken Gargett Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Bob Marley - maybe. But here we reach an impasse i have an absolute loathing for bob marley, not least because he makes me think of whitney houston. many years ago, i spent a year on the back of a truck travelling africa and asia - we had a makeshift tape player and i was travelling with musical heathens. they played bob marley (whom i did not dislike at all before the trip) and whitney houston (whom i did) endlessly. day after ear-bleeding day. i cringe at the sound of either. tho i was not sure if you thought i should compare bruce with marley or marley with shakespeare. dylan with shakespeare i could accept.
Colt45 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 tho i was not sure if you thought i should compare bruce with marley or marley with shakespeare. dylan with shakespeare i could accept. Marley with Shakespeare. As for the rest, now you can imagine how the crew feel when they visit you to do the vid reviews. As an aside, have you noticed that Smithy is now a site admin? Makes me feel much better about being a moderator......
