samb Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 When i was 16, a had my first black and mild. When i was 18, i picked out and purchased my first real cigar, i cut the cap with and exacto knife and lit it with a Bic. Having only smoked cigarettes, i was utterly amazed at the amount of flavor in a handmade cigar.
matthew261 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 A Swisher Sweet was my first cigar at the age of 13 while on a camp out with my friends. I remember thinking it was good, thus proving that I was far too young to smoke a cigar. As for my children, my 8 year old daughter things my cigars are repugnant. However, I have to fend my three year old daughter off when I light up. She thinks they are heavenly and is relentless is lurking about while I smoke (her mother is not amused). As for when I might offer them their first cigar it will depend on their maturity level and their desire to indulge. I would MUCH rather educate them about cigars than see them self-educating with cigarettes.
