Kangaroo495 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Doesn't get much attention here amongst the usual Bolivar, Partagas and Upmann reviews. I ordered a single RGCE from CC's which I'm waiting anxiously to try. What are your thoughts on it? Has anyone actually smoked it recently? Cheers.
thechenman Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Haven't smoked any yet, but I do have several in the humi. I'll add it to my list, but I still have the Monte Edmundo up before it, and that is about 3 cigars down from where I am at present.
jquest63 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I'm fond of the R. Gonzalez CE and PC. I routinely smoke both. The CE, although considered mild is a rich flavored cigar with a great aroma. The PC is not mild, I find them medium plus and are quite tannic young. Give them both time to age though, recommend 2 to 3 years minimum.
Kangaroo495 Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Thanks gents! In particular for the aging advice. Though I'm still gonna smoke the one I get straight away. Will let you know my thoughts.
SixburghDynasty Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I've got the CE's and the PCs as well, all from 2001. Very distinct floral smell and very flavorful floral taste. I like them alot.
PigFish Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I don't like to make generalizations about brands but I will step into the limelight a bit on this discussion. I smoke more RG cigars than most. Why? Because I have found consistently excellent taste performance in the Lonsdale, the CE and the PC. Unlike some lines I have never had a box of RG cigars that did not display above average performance in the taste performance spectrum. I think it is important to say that Rafael Gonzales cigars are not good because I say so; it is because that they perform so well, that I say so. -The Pig
Kangaroo495 Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 Thanks Pig. Looking forward to smoking one myself
