Don't think this has been posted before, but check this out - it's not often a bunch of measly cohibas take a back stage to a box...:

:D

Yours for just £39,950 (US$67,394 or AUS$80,244). P&P not inc. :perfect10:

Why waste money on a car, kids education or as a deposit for a house when you can have this!

NB - there are hidden compartments not shown. Probably housing some well trained Cuban mice to maintain the humidification system.

wow, I would imagine the cigars in the humidor of that price would be spectacular. 40,000 pounds :D

What Cohibas are in there? The second bands are in the same style of as the EL bands, but I can't make out what the text says on them.

Edit: The Linley website has a zip file with more info.

El Laguito - the ‘Cohiba’ Humidor

The first piece in the collection is a one off piece inspired by the Laguito cigar factory, the famous factory on the outskirts of Havana where Cohiba cigars are made (Cohiba is the flagship brand of Habanos). The Cohiba brand was created for Fidel Castro in 1966 and El Laguito became the legendary house where this top secret cigar was produced . Only Fidel, head of states and diplomats were given Cohiba cigars as very special gifts.

The building of Laguito, which was originally the former private home of the Prince of Pinar del Rio, has been translated by LINLEY into an architectural box which serves as a humidor for storing a rare collection of Cohiba cigars assembled by Hunters & Frankau.

The LINLEY humidor is made from sycamore with inlays of ripple sycamore, bird’s eye maple, burr oak, holly and Indian ebony. Intricate marquetry detailing, architectural mouldings and lippings are used in the decorative relief of the front and side elevations, and the building sits resplendently atop a recreation of the famous Laguito front steps, (where cigars are traditionally enjoyed). The lid of the box is flat, to mirror that of the Laguito building, and is decorated with quarter matched ripple sycamore and a marquetry emblem of the Cohiba cigar brand.

The main compartment of the humidor houses three lift out trays with capacity for approximately 194 cigars. The humidor is lined with cedar and features a ‘Cigar Spa’ humidification system. There are three secret compartments hidden within the structure – one hidden within the steps which houses cigar scissors and matches, and two either side of the building on push catches. These are ideal for storing special cigar bands.

Cohiba was first made available more widely in 1982 and today is the most prestigious cigar brand in the world. The leaves used for Cohiba are a selection of taken from the finest Vegas Finas de Primera in the Vuelta Abajo region. Uniquely amongst Habanos cigars, two of Cohiba’s filler leaves undergo a third fermentation in barrels.

The cigars contained in this humidor are part of limited and special lines produced in Cohiba in the past.

Cohiba Double Coronas Limited Edition* 2003. This size is not available in the standard brand portfolio. It was introduced as a Limited Edition in 2003. It was originally intended to be ‘a gift from Cohiba for connoisseurs’, and was produced in extremely limited quantities. It has since become a very rare and collectable piece amongst aficionados.

Cohiba Sublime Limited Edition* 2004: The Sublimes size was first created as a Limited Edition for the Cohiba brand in 2004. This cigar was an instant success and has gained an almost legendary status amongst cigar connoisseurs and collectors. These cigars are now extremely rare.

Cohiba Piramides Limited Edition 2006: The first piramide in Cohiba was introduced as a Limited Edition in 2001. Due to its popularity and acceptance amongst the Habanos smokers, it was chosen in 2006 by Habanos SA for a second edition. It is this cigar which is included in the El Laguito humidor.

Cohiba Esplendidos Reserva 1999 - 2002 : This size is part of a special production released into the market in 2002 in the Cohiba Reserva Seleccion (Cosecha 1999/Harvest 1999). Again, this was a limited production and was given the Reserva name because the leaves used in the cigars were aged for a minimum of three years. The collection was recognized to contain excellent cigars ‘a jewel for smokers’.

* Limited Editions . Limited yearly productions issued by Habanos SA. The LE from 2000-2005 used wrappers specially aged for two years. The wrappers come from the top of the plant and have a special Maduro (dark) color. Since 2006 all the filler leaves used for Limited Editions have been aged for a minimum of 2 years as well .

El Laguito dimensions – W580 x D565 x H257 (mm)

RRP including cigars - £39,950

Sweet Humidor! If it could watch my kids and make espressos, I'd buy one.

And just getting into cigars I need a new humidor as I have outgrown the little 25 count one I bought. I was thinking of using a cooler but maybe I should just go with this.

Best regards, tony

And to think, I could have wasted my money on tupperware, a sponge, and a box of Juan Lopez # 1's! PFFT!

at first glance on my iPhone I thought you said a SPOUSE and a box of JL 1's.

fantastic. if only one was as rich as one deserves to be.

it does say capacity for 194 cigars and it lists the cigars but unless i missed it, it did not specify actual numbers. capacity a bit different to actual number, i would have thought. anyone know?

On the Hunters & Frankau website (UK equiv of PCC and suppliers of these cigars) it says:

There are 25 of each of the following cigars in the humidor, all Edicion Limitada, Limited Editions:

Cohiba Double Coronas (2003) (7 5/8” x 49)

Cohiba Sublimes (2004) (6 ½” x 54)

Cohiba Piramides (2006) (6 1/8” x 52)

Cohiba Esplendidos Reserva 1999/2002 (7” x 47). (The Tobacco harvest for these cigars was taken in 1999 but the cigar was not launched until 2002).

So actually you're only getting 100 cigars....

Hunters & Frankau

Note ''There is one additional further drawer, the whereabouts of which will only be revealed to the final owner of this piece''

I'm guessing it's at the back, and houses some LE Guantanameras...

It would be intersting to study the profile of the typical owner of this magnificent piece of art. Where did I go wrong?

Just don't let bunburyist anywhere near it http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/inde...showtopic=98525

:)

In a few years, maybe when it dawns on me that there's more to life than killing yourself in the office, this is what I want to do. Obviously this piece has been done by craftsmen with years of experience, but a house with a bit of land, a couple of dogs and a workshop would do it for me. Hot wife and kids wouldn't hurt either. :)
