olotti Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Eyeballing the recent sale I'm interested in opinions on these two...Never had the short churchill before and i've only had 1 Upmann #2 and it was a couple years ago.
anacostiakat Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Eyeballing the recent sale I'm interested in opinions on these two...Never had the short churchill before and i've only had 1 Upmann #2 and it was a couple years ago. Smoked a HUP #2 last night. Dark oily wrappers and exceedingly good for an young cigar (08). I also had an '08 Mag 46 Tubo that was great as well. I am not a fan of the RyJ Short Churchies.
Lanthor Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 HU #2's are probably my favorite cigars, bar none. If you get a good box you can let sit for a while, or a box that is on with a little age, it will be the hardest box to keep your hands off of when you open the humi.
El Presidente Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 The HU Number 2, Magnum 46 and Magnum 50 are certainly a step above the R&J Short Churchills in terms of flavour intensity (currently).
shrink Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 The Upmann No. 2 is very good for a young cigar, but the best young Upmann that I've had is the Connoisseur No. 1.
jeromeroselli Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Love both of these cigars. I just smoked an 07 RYJ Short Churchill the other night and thought it was great. They're both good... flip a coin.
