Kangaroo495 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Anyone tried one of these? I've heard it exists but can't find many references to it. Couldn't find anything on FOH or CC either. What's it like? What does it look like? Perhaps it's a different name for one of the existing vitolas (e.g. Don Alejandro...)?
Colt45 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Anyone tried one of these? I've heard it exists but can't find many references to it. I've never had one, but my understanding is that it is a farm cigar and only available at the finca itself. If you do a google search, you will find a few links. It is 7 1/2" x 56 ring. There is a tasting on the russian site cigarros. James Suckling also blogged about it, with video, on CA's site. I'd prefer not to post a link.

Have a good look at the site and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Nino is a fantastic guy, I'll be seeing him this summer and I'll put up a post on the trip . I'd prefer not to post a link. Yeah! I had this cigar! THX that you look through my modest site! This is link on VR Godfather tasting: http://www.cigarros.ru/tastings/53.html Unfortunately the tasting text in Russian Hope that I will soon make the English-speaking version of a cigaRRos site Really, this cigar was presented to me by my German friend Tony. He has visited Don Alejandro last year and has received some these cigars from his hands. The cigar has made, as is accepted to speak, ambiguous impression! First, the perfect breeding and to become give out in the representative of "the selected circles». Secondly, the bouquet saturation gives the chance to take pleasure in excellent Cuban tobacco in all its beauty. And thirdly, lacks of this cigar simply are not present! This is unequivocally evening cigar, worthy a special case. Harmonious and rather balanced. Taste pleasant and volume. There is no possibility to make out the minimum lacks. Even any way varying chemical aromas not in forces to constrain all power of this cigar and to spoil impression about it. If I had one more I with pleasure would leave it on endurance not less than 5-7th years. Quite charismatic and noble cigar corresponding to the own name and an origin.

cigarros Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Cigarros, was it you who wrote the review in Russian "Smoke" magazine? That's actually how I found out about the Padrino! It was my review. Mr. Chechilov - editor-in-chief russian Smoke magazine has asked me to write a small taste-note about this cigar. I couldn't refuse Классная рецензия! Спасибо! Не ожидал встретиться здесь с россиянами! Спасибо!
Mr. Japan Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Smokes several during my trips to Robaina's farm, perfectly rolled with a wonderful capa ( Of course) , but I have to say I prefer the Robusto's rolled in the farm by a man called Francisco. Rob if Josè can get them they are pure dinamite. ;-)
