As I watch the D-Day ceremonies broadcast live from Normandy this morning, I take pause to remember the courageous people, kids really, that embarked on a mission 65 years ago to overthrow tyranny in Europe. So many heroes made, so many lives lost. I just want to say Thank You...

Exactly 65 years ago today, the largest amphibious invasion in world history took place. Thousands dies on six beaches: Omaha, Utah, Sword, Juno, Gold, and Point du Hoc. They overcame the Atlantic Wall, which not even the Spanish Armada and Napoleon Bonaparte's navy could overcome. They faced hell on earth, and did not stop. They died for liberty, and I thank them for it.

My father-in-law was one of those men; one of the fortunate that survived the day and the war, died 2001. Thank you Dan, rest in peace

May God bless the greatest generation. My Dad served in ww 2 and I smoked my first cigar with him. Thanks to all who defend freedom...
