and BOSTON LEGAL ?!?! no fans?! damn lineal people!, besides denny crane ans alan shore smoked cigars at the end I would've expected some sympathy towards fellow smokers...

Love Boston Legal but in recent season's has jumped the shark. 'Deadwood' is brilliant as is the UK original version of 'The Office'. 'Flight of the conchords' is great and quirky too.

i know it is a quirky and weird show but i reckon it is terrific stuff. any other fans out there?

we've just finished the second season. hoping a few more to come.

Great show. First time I've watched a show and been on the side of a serial killer. You know the writing is good when, along with your girlfriend, you're screaming "Kill him Dex" at the screen half way thropugh Season 1. We both felt a bit strange about that, but hey, whatcha gonna do?

Other great US shows;

Arrested Development, without a doubt the most intelligent comedy ever produced by an American channel. The only US Comedy that can hold it's head up high along with the likes of Fawlty Towers, The Office (UK), Absolute Power, Blackadder, Father Ted etc.

The Sopranos Goes without saying. Amazing show.

The Wire Possibly the greatest show ever. Never thought I'd say that about a US show (no offence meant, but while there's a lot of good US shows, there are few greats.) I am actually not a big fan of any TV, but there is no doubt that this show is up there with some of the all time classic movies as 'high-art.'

The Simpsons Often gets overlooked, but the longest running (I think) comedy anywhere in the world. Has gone through peaks and troughs (current season is pretty bad, but has had good seasons recently.) When it was good, it was very good.

I know The Soprano's and The Wire are HBO, Dexter I think is Showtime and Fox did 'Arrested Development' (and repeatedly tried to kil it) and The Simpsons, but who is producing the 'next big thing' and which station in the US has the cornered the market in terms of quality?

That is my favorite show right now. I think I watched season 1 on DVD in about 2 days. I just couldn't stop. I can't wait for the next season. I think it's coming soon.
