Solid feeling lancero, obvious tight roll has me worried about the draw. The wrapper is somewhat veiny and very toothy, still a good looking cigar.

Clip the cap to find the somewhat tight draw I was expecting, but it's still moving air so should be smokable. Smell at cold is all sweet, damp hay.

Fired it up, and immediately get a very earthy tone which quickly transitions to a nice leathery flavor with roasted nuts underneath it. As it progresses through the first third, the nut flavor comes to the foreground, and a vanilla cream flavor begins to dance around the edges. Very nice. The draw opens up after the first couple inches.

By the halfway point, the body begins to move upwards. Same basic flavors as before, but the vanilla cream is much more pronounced, I'm sure due to the improved draw. A pepper spice has entered the mix, not overpowering but blending into the mix well.

She finally sends me off with an unexpected blast of hot pepper and leather in the last couple inches, which finishes it off nice and lively. I'm left with a very pleasant aftertaste, and my mind is already mulling over what to fire up after dinner... the sign of a good cigar is always how much it makes you want to keep smoking!

Typical Fundy... elegant and refined but never boring. Other than a slightly tight draw in the beginning, the construction was perfect, never requiring any sort of touchup. I love these things... glad I have a buddy with a couple more boxes of the same date code, I will have to raid his humidor when I run out. I'd rate this one a 94... without the initial tight draw it would have grabbed a 96.

Good day for Trini's so far...
