Ken Gargett
great stuff. would be interested in knowing what sort of/size flies you use over there. most of the kiwi stuff i've done has been with tiny flies, yet in chile, we were using much, much larger ones. that said, in nz this most recent season, the killer fly was the san juan worm. fish that you could not move with a dozen different flies would fly across a stream to nail a worm. FlyFishingDude
Ken, We happened to be in the right place during a surprise BWO hatch, and tied on #22 compara duns and wham, caught a stocky rainbow. He must of been lost because this is brown trout water.... 4th cast landed the big guy, solid 23", there were bigger donkeys but couldn't get them.
