Springtime has finally come to the cold north and I had quite a few cigars during this weekend.

Just felt like sharing my quick thoughts on the two robustos I smoked...

Ramon Allones Specially Selected -07

This is my nirvana cigar. Everytime I light one of these up they just calms me down, no matter how crappy the week has been. Sweet, smooth, yet full of nicotine. I was in a trance for over an hour. It didnt even matter that this specimen was quite underfilled and had seriously burn issues. It rocked me gently!

Partagas Serie:D No:4 -08

I actually lost my PSD4-virginity this weekend and all I can say is: WOW!! This was an attack on all my senses. Complex, fullbodied with fantastic aftertaste!! These are still young (early 08) and I can only imagine how they will smoke in a year or two...

I love them both!!! The PSD4 is never disappointing. I got a box from Feb'08 and now just after a year they're already GREAT <_<

I myself had a RASS from 07 this weekend and found it superb. I haven't had any recent production PSD4's but they are also another favorite robusto of mine. Good choices.

Had an 07 RASS this weekend myself, just love them.

They have everything for me I can ask for and always deliver.

I have smoked 4 or 5 PSd4 and have yet to figure out what all the fuss is about.

Maybe Party's are not for me.

Had an 07 RASS here too  And I was previously a RASS virgin.

Overall I was impressed. Mine burnt like a champion, a fairly loose draw was indicated by a soft bunch and so it was a good plan to have only punched the cap. Beautiful aroma that developed roasted cashew at the end of the first third moving to roast almond later. Flavour though was a bit distracting, kind of like hessian, gym bag or old carpet in parts and quite a tannic mouth feel. Balanced a bit by nutty creaminess hiding in the background. Final third showed some toasted bread, wholemeal if I am not mistaken. This is not to say I was disappointed. I have no other RASS experience to judge by. :P

I think they need a little rest and then should deliver more of the promised stewed fruit I hear about from you other guys.

I smoked a RASS yesterday and had smoked a few say 6 months ago and not been that impressed. This one however was fantastic with amazing room aroma and an almost honey taste. Delish!!

Those are 2 of my fav robustos, along with the BRC and I have to say they have been hit or miss over the past year or so. I'm staying away from them now as I was starting to get a little annoyed with the inconsistencies. Great to good, you never know? I'm focusing on the Upmann Mag 50 and it's keeping me happy!

If you smoke the 08 PSD4's you wont have time to age them as they are excellant now so why bother !!! :rotfl:

I have Wishnu Bitang GM of PCC Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia with me this week so I have had more than a few Robustos.

Ramon Allones Specially Select are a favourite of hers and our 08 examples Sunday night were simply magnificent. Stewed fruit strewn, medium bodied greats.

Very surprised with 07 St Luis Rey Regios. Had a chocolate streak which outdid VR Famosos. Medium bodied and rich!
