The papers are reporting that she is brain dead after a skiing fall in Canada. Truely sad. . .

From that article, it didn't sound like a serious fall when it happened. Couldn't find any more recent updates on the story online.

It's scary to think of all those falls I've taken during snowboarding lessons... they could have been more serious than I thought.

We were just watching one of our kids favorite movies, "The Parent Trap" on Saturday and I was asking about her. What a shame.

Truely sad indeed and a salient reminder to hug your kids/wife and live every day as if it were your last.

Very sad and shocking.

As an avid skier, I've had a few hellish falls where thinking to myself while falling, that this is the one that kills me. Only to pull myself out of the trees and walk away untouched. I cringe when I see little ones on the mountain without a helmet.
