You're coming on pretty strong for the Cuaba Piramides. The one I smoked wasn't bad: smooth, but one-dimensional medium-bodied coffee and cocoa. Much better than any other Cuaba I've smoked. But it lacked the pepper, spice, and "mongrel" that I expect in a cigar that will age well. What makes you think that these will improve with time?

It reminds me of the Por Larranaga Robusto when first released. Lack of midsection power...slightly hollow in taste from several examples I had when they were young. Had enough good ones to provide a glimpse into the future and they are currenlty coming home like a train.

The Cuaba Piramide to my mind is in its youth a better cigar than the PL Robusto was. The Cuaba is also a little flat in the midsection currently but it has class and sweet spice dimensions along with coffee/cream. There is no hole in the midsection. Underlying strengtht is there but not ready to show. When it does it will be an exceptional cigar.

I have probably had 12-15 Cuaba Piramides from various boxes and I like them more and more. I also like the quality of tobacco being used on these which is the best of all 08 LE's.

I have put 10 boxes aside for myself of these since release so I am a believer in them. I am pretyy sure I am not wrong. No doubt you guys will remind me if I am :P

I just put an order for a box today based on your reviews. Hope you haven't steered me astray like the houseboat... :P

Prez, don't know if it's a technical problem on my end or not, but the YouTube video seems to perpetually stop right on the picture of the Escudos...

edit: works now. Bizarre.

Aye Fuzz I agree and have also spoke for a Cuaba box, there's glory in the future if you can wait to get there!

A lovely looking cigar - have yet to burn one but should remedy this soon enough.........

Problem is the sale will be over before that chance comes up.

To buy or not to buy without trying first :bsmeter:

Rob, definitely a worthy recipient of Inlumino Cigar News Australia's Corona de Oro 'Most Dynamic Retailer' award for 2008.

Video specials. Love your thoughts and very professional!

Enjoy the festival you bastard!

Jimmy, some filter settings will not show youtube videos. Do you have a parental filter on, or are you at work?

Working fine here Jimmy. I suspect your wife has put a "Nanny Filter" on your computer :bsmeter:

I'm a bit surprised that you didn't pimp the JLo PC's. Based on just one, I would (and did) snap them up at just over $4.00 US each at that box price.

I normally stay away from cigars as young as the Cuaba Piramides are now - but I have smoked 2 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - both for what they delivered now - but also at what they hinted at delivering in the future.... I'll visit these again at Christmas '09
