Habanos in Punta Cana?

Hi Folks,

I know there is no LCDH in Punta Cana, but there is a Habanos Distributor in Domincan Republic.

Anyone know of any shops in Punta Cana that carry legit Habanos.

Dont think you will find any at all, and Dominicas are pricey too. Take your own. Thogh you will see lotz of fakes.

i spent my honeymoon there back in '04 (puerta plata) and while i did see a TON of fakes i did find one shop that had all legit habanos. the prices weren't too bad either, so i picked up about 12 cigars. i will say that if you haven't been smoking habanos very long then you should take your own. no sense in taking a chance on buying fakes.

I stayed at the RIU Palace in Punta Cana and they had a nice Cigar shop there in the shopping plaza they have for the RIU hotels. I brought most of my own and only purchased 4 when I was there two were off and the other 2 were a monte 2 and Partagas Serie D 4 and seemed spot on. As stated above be very careful as I would say 95% of the Cubans are fake (glass tops galore), especially anyone selling Fuentes.
