found this in an article on bruce re the concert pre inauguration.

Barack Obama came to see him play live and confessed to his wife that he was only running for president because he couldn't be Bruce Springsteen.

No, you misread the article. It said that Obama ran for President because it was the only way he could ban Bruce Springsteen.

If I'd known that, I would have come over and voted for him myself...... :moon:

Imagine this picture. Obama listening to Dancing in the dark in the White House and smoking cigarettes hidden and next morning signing the next antismoking ban. Nothing extremely odd for some one with so prehistoric likings. :moon:

Springsteen threads should be banned along with Political threads :covermouth:

in this new age of hope, one must stand up for what one believes in.

it is hardly bruce's fault if you are a heathen, deaf-to-genius, hack who is yet to hear the calling.

Sorry old timer (you are fifty now), perhaps your generation - I've still a few years to go.

rob told me you were mid 60's - i was thinking that the platters and their ilk were your thing.

and remember, bruce speaks for every generation.

What is age anyway? I'd like to think I'm as a 1945 Mouton - ageless.

And while the Platters may be good, I'll go farther back and listen to Reinhardt and Grappelli, Ellington et al.

You can have the boss (with silvio on guitar), and I'll take The Duke.
