Patrick McGoohan dead at 80!

What a great show that was!

Second that.....I have the DVD's of Prisoner....must do a nostalgic re-viewing of the series.

I was in Wales a few years ago and had intended visiting "The Village" of Portmeirion, but time ran out.

A must on my list if I get to Wales again.

An excellent actor!!!! Rest in Peace....

Who remembers him in a Disney TV ini-series where he played an English smuggler - I think the title was 'The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh'. and then his other big TV Series - Secret Agent Man!!!!

He was also great in Braveheart!

Who is #1?

'You are number 6'.

He never did reveal what he was getting at with the show. It was an incredibly ambiguous creation that could only have come out in '67. Still one of my all-time favourites.

Unfortunately, after many years of threatening, 'The Prisoner' has been re-created/bastardized starring Jim Caveziel (Jesus from 'The Passion of the Christ'). I believe it will be coming from Showtime or one of the other cable providers next year.

You Yanks can't leave well enough alone! Ha ha ha.

Great actor, I loved The Prisoner, went mad collecting VHS of all the episodes a few years ago. Well worth watching on Netflix, they have the DVDs, a very unusual, surreal series. Much of it was filmed in Portmeirion, Wales, I visited there in 2001, a great collection of architecture which made for a very noteworthy setting for this show.

In the "Queen's English" speaking world :P (yes, I exclude the USA) this series was called Danger Man.

Queen's English (in the USA we put an apostrophe in there to show possessive case)

but I don't understand what Elton John has to do with this ---- he was recently on one of the Late Night TV shows here and came out proclaiming himself to be the 'real Queen of England'!........ but maybe you weren't referring to him after all.... LOL!!!!!
