What a great corner of the internet you all have carved out here, and a wonderful bunch of coconuts in attendance as well...well, some of you probably ought to be locked up (probably explains why many of you live in a former penal colony  ), but you're wonderful nonetheless. I love the new format, it has really helped me navigate. The new video reviews are a hoot...I think I've cleaned off my flat panel at least a half-dozen times. Kudos to El Presidente and his crew for a great place here. I've been on a few hobby/enthusiast forums, and the members and the atmosphere here is as pleasant as any I've found and the signal-to-noise ratio is incredibly high.

My crack dealer....err, fellow Cuban enthusiast...is an FOH member and turned me on to the site. I've read plenty and learned a great deal, but I still imagine I'll consider myself a tyro for quite some time. I've smoked cigars (mostly Honduran) off and on for 20 years or so, but only been exposed to CC's in the last few months. Like my music, I have an eclectic taste in cigars, so I'm not particular to any one marca, vitola or strength. I'm mostly an outdoor smoker, often on the golf course, and in New England winters, it's tough to find the time and place for a smoke so I tend to shorter sticks this time of year. So far, I've been introduced to Bolivar, Punch and Por Laranaga Petite Coronas, RASCC, and Trinidad Reyes. On the larger side, there have been Hoyo des Dieux and I just enjoyed a great Partagas de Partagas No. 1 (NOV '00) yesterday on a bonus 60°F (15°C) day while clearing brush after this weekends ice storm. I've also got some RASS and 898V's resting until spring and Boli CE's on the way. I've really enjoyed everything I've had, and the small sticks really have great body and flavor and don't get hot even down to the nub.

While I hope to join in, I'm sure I'll just read and learn more than I post for a while. I actually have a non-Cuban question I'd like to post in the Discussion Forum if they don't beat me out of there with a stick for a non CC question.

Cheers,

Rick
