HI Guys,

Here's my first review (so please be kind :2thumbs: ) of a Monte 2 (PEL JUL 02) that I got from El Prez as part of the aged stock deals.

Setting: my 'man room' (which my lovely fiancee lets me smoke in!) and accompanied by a great rum: Ron Anejo Anniversario Pampero

At Cold: beautiful dark oily wrapper, no lumps or bumps, good construction.

Pre-light draw: good to slightly tight, coco flavours.

1st 1/3: nutty earthy, herby, opening to espresso coffee and dark chocolate. However not much smoke (maybe too humid?) and required recutting which improved the draw

2nd 1/3: Nice development into creamy nuttiness, like I've found in Edmundos

Last 1/3: richer, white pepper through the nose, tannins and nuttyness

Overall: Nice full bodied smoke, similar flavours to Edmundos but fuller bodied.

Cheers,

George

Nice Review George! A personal favorite of mine and nice oily tasty looking specimen you had there...

Great review G.

I was lucky enough to acquire a 10 pack of that same cigar from Pres. Yeah, pretty much have to agree - a classic Monte!

Thanks guys for your encouraging feedback!

I think I'll try the '07 RYJ Churchill tubo next my sister brought me back from Cuba in January. Oh and I'll also try and post in the correct bloody thread!

Cheers,

George
