Van55 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 These have hit retailers shelves in Europe and one asking price I have seen is around 140 Euro. Rob, do you expect to get inventory of these? This vitola would be perfect for a post-Thanksgiving day relaxing hour and a half to two hours.
anacostiakat Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Good news!! I've waited ALL year for these Agree!
Van55 Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Top, hoping for an answer from the Czar/President/Nabob.
El Presidente Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 We should be getting them in shortly (week - 10 days) No pricing and numbers are limited for the initial shipment. I will announce more when I have some detail. I am in the process of editing the posts mentioning vendors. There are some excellent vendors out there that have proven their worth over many years. Many of them are friends of mine. The rule for not mentioning vendors is not one to protect our financial position. The rule is in place for the following reasons: 1. Majority of vendors do not wish to be discussed in open threads on boards. 2. Discussing Vendors is a Pandoras box. Before long we will have a litany of posts detailing the pro's and con's of a particular vendor (or multiple). Some of the information posted will be factual, much of it will not. 3. Australia has some of the strongest internet defamation laws in the world. A mailigned vendor has every right to lodge legal action against the owners of this board (me). Cost to defend such an action starts at $25K and should a charge be eventually laid then a full defence could quite quickly move to $150k. If you have a question on a particular vendor then PM me. I will always give you an honest assessment such as "solid vendor" or "don't know enough about them".

El Presidente Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 No apologies necessary Van. It was all pretty lineball stuff. This is one area however which needs a firm line in the sand to avoid a tumultuos plummet into the abyss.
SethG Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I had one of these at LCDH TJ last week, not bad! Too bad I couldn't bring it back to the US
cigarros Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Hi! I too managed one cigar from my friend who went to Cuba in structure russian delegations one week ago. This cigar has been received from Raul Castro's hands! Really! But without second band. I yet did not try it, but it looks is more tremendous!
CIGARHead Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I cant wait for the Salomones also. I just hope the construction is there and they remember such a large cigar doesn't need to be too tight.
strayvector Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Let's hope this is more like other Partagas in flavor than the much maligned Cuabas.
CIGARHead Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I tried one last night. Rolled a little tight, it's just too much cigar. There's nothing subtle about the flavor either. They need to sit for 5 years (and lose some weight). I sure hope that is not how they will all be rolled. All the custom rolled Salomones I've smokedt have been perfectly and purposely rolled with a little less heft. These need not be stuffed due to their larger and unique size - which almost always needs to be double toked. The two pre-release Partagas Salomones I had earlier this year are unsmokeable due to a too tight roll. I dont think they will ever open up.
CIGARHead Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I have both of those pre-releases. Agree. A hernia waiting to happen. These new ones are not quite that tight. Thats good news, I guess - maybe they just need to settle and lose some moisture. I did forget to say that I 6 of the Salomones. 3 for me and three for a friend. The first had a great draw and had superb flavors...I was just put off by the others that were too tight to get ANY air through. I also sent 3 to a buddy and his were the same....tighter than a gnat's ass.
