I've been a member of another cigar forum for about 3 years and have been smoking cigars for about 4 years, but saw this forum and thought it'd be fun to join and interact with other BOTL/SOTL.

My son heads to SD on Aug 04, 2009 for boot camp and my family and I will hopefully be there 13 weeks later to see him become a Marine. Are you a Drill Srg?

Semper Fidelis Devil Dog. Im a Marine Veteran who went to boot camp MCRD San Diego, SOI at San Onofre, and was at Camp Pendleton with 3rd Bn 9th Marines and 2nd Bn 5th Marines. 1989-1993. I recently just got back this weekend for a reunion withs some old buddies we met up at Camp Leajune North Carolina. Welcome to the board and a good place to smoke some Cubans in Sd area is La Casa Del Habano in TJ.

I am not, but am near that area. Camp Pendleton to be exact.

Tell your son to keep his head up, listen to everything they say, and show confidence and discipline. He'll do fine.

Puros, I am currently stationed at Camp Pendleton. I've been in since 2003. I definitely know of La Casa. Taboada is actually in town right now, but they're not letting Marines across right now, so I had to get a buddy to pick up a couple of his fresh rolled for me.

Nice I was at Camp Margarita and San Mateo back in the days. Some good memories for sure.
