SamuraiJack Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 The pictures are great! Thanks for sharing. The goat cart is adorable. And the rollerblade guy is PRICELESS. Seeing stuff like this (as opposed to fancy resorts) is what makes me want to visit.
El Presidente Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 One of my favouite all time posts! You have to love the picture of the boy riding the "Titanic" ....it looks like it will go down like a Qantas jet any minute Your pictures capture the essence and "life" of everyday Cubans better than any others I have seen. For all their poverty they have a richness (strength) in community and extended family that I envy greatly. Thank you
aavkk Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 This is such a treat for me, thanks so much for sharing. Ive taken so many cruises by cuba and been able to see the island from a distance and I always wonder what life is really like there. These "real world" photos are really great.
anacostiakat Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Great stuff! I agree with Rob on the Titanic one.
Spartan Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Fantastic pics! Does this guy know it's not safe to be dressed like this at a rodeo?
laficion Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 I just saw it now, I made a mistake in the spelling. It's Manicaragua at Villaclareno, Sorry:-|

laficion Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Hi everyone, Welcome back to View of Cuba Today. This time we will visit the small town of Mancaragua at Villaclareno, on the road to Havana, where we stoped off for a refreshment. We happened to stop on the day they were having their local Feria and Rodeo, so we steped in with the gang and had a great day. As you will see, It's not Texas but it was so friendly and with such a great reception we will never forget. This town,by the way, is very close to the town of Baez, from where Don Pepin Garcia,of Don Pepin Garcia Cigars, grew up and worked in Cuba. The local star at the Rodeo is a 6 years old boy that you will see in the pics. He is really something, the boy has real talent. Hope you'll enjoy. Star of the show and back on the road cheers
