I've been on a lucky run over the past week or so:

H.Upmann Mag 46 SEP 05: It's taken these a few years to come around, but they're coming on strong.

Lightly chocolaty coffee, great body, very good construction.

Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.1 OCT 06: These are showing themselves to be real sweethearts -

walnuts, caramel, elements of fruit. Perfect draw and burn, rich and delicious.

Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona 02 Cabinet: Nuts, raisin sweetness, butter cream. Mid body.

Smooth and refined, with a great draw - I wish I had more than the two left.

Eden Clear Havana 1944: I recently posted my thoughts on this one.

Yes, it does seem like they've been smiling upon me - it's the laughing after they drop the other shoe

that I could do without :-D

missed the post on the 1944 - have to chase it but am very pleased re your thoughts on the mag 46. i have posted a number of times that i reckon, at least in my experience, these are largely bland crap for the first 18 months or so, may be even a bit more. then they seem to blossom. real ugly duckling into swan stuff.

had a couple of impressive lusi's from 7-8 years ago (have to check) but far and away the best cigar i have had for ages (though the mag 50's rob shared were very good) have been some La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or No. 2's from 1999. absolutely superb. had two and both rank in the top five smokes of the year (depending how many hamlets i can include - the monty sublime in havana at festival time up there as well). had a couple of '02s for comparison. good but not in the same class.
