Gino, if it was for early next year I would definitely be attending.

Sounds like a great time.

Gino, Please keep us informed, your event sounds absolutely wonderful, one that I would love to have the opportunity to be a part of, yet I know it would only be a dream for me. Enjoy and we look forward to the reviews!

Coming November 28th, in Brindisi at the restaurant “The Araba Fenice”, two exclusive products will be able to meet, more than thirty years since birth, thanks to the intuition of Nick Pileggi (President of Alto Salento Cigar Club in Apulia) and Alberto Lupetti (journalist of several magazines) that joined forces and knowledge to celebrate in a special event, that certainly in the 80s would have been more than normal, but that today is an occasion so rare … maybe unrepeatable.

The cigars DON Alfredo selection Supreme 53 A. Dunhill, stored in A. Dunhill in London from March 1974, and purchased by Nick will be tasted with the top champagne, probably the best champagne in the world, DOM Pérignon Oenothèque "troisième plenitude".

The Dom Pérignon Oenothèque “troisième plenitude”, is the top expression not only of the winery named after the famous monk Pierre, but of the entire Champagne area.

The event invitation, which is needless to emphasize ha an exceptional nature, will be for only for 20 people and I obtained from Nick the go ahead to inform also outside of Italy

If any interest to be there LMK

I completely forgoit to have posted here, sorry guys.

Anyhow no body really asked ....

We had a great time in Brindisi thank you to the local cigar club. Few photo’s attached other here (no firefox http://fotoalbum2.aruba.it/fotoalbum...mchr32Perignon ) .

Finally I have tried the Oenetheque champagne and the main surprise to me is been how fresh it still was. It is been explained that every ten years the champagne is tasted and if still good it taken over .This was a “troisieme plenitude” 1975, disgorgement 2007, that is been stored in the deep cellars of Moet and Chandon since it was made. Very little (fine) bubbles and in the mouth (drinked before smoking ) I could catch very nice mature fruit aromas, a complex mix. Then Sir Alfred…ops Don Alfredo was lighted up.

Dunhill Don Alfredo 53,a corona (42-142).Woah! First few draw pepper and hot spices that I almost need to blow my noose, unbelievable after more than 30 years. The cigar has been a continuous growing of light wood and an explosion of floral aroma. The fortaleza (strength) is been remarkable, at the end my lips where like if I have been kissing spicy lips. The amount of smoke was very rich, never needed to relight and the ash was very firm and burned perfectly.

The evening went on with a superb dinner and other great cigars , and also the day after we enjoyed a nice day in the regional typical houses “the Trullo” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trullo that is been converted in a restaurant and B&B style. We eat again too much.

What else do you want from life : great friends, great food, great drinking and super cigars.
