I'm not playing as much as i wish and thus i'm still looking for the perfect smoke on the course...

I've tried several size cigars, and so far the only fitting the best is Trinidad Fundadores...

Due to the size, no need to light it over and over again after each stroke...

Any other recommendation?

PS: no, i'm not smoking on the pitch during a rugby match :-P ...

You are my best friend!

All this talk about fishing but no golf.

I play golf at least twice a week and smoke a cigar almost every time I play wind pending.

I my view any cigar is good on for the golf course, it just depends on how windy it is and if I walk or cart it.

Always bring 2 with you, less wind = less gauge.

If I'm walking I go for a lesser strength, it the cart talk your pick.

I also take into account what I'm drinking on the course.

I'm well know at my club for getting bottles of red wine brought out while playing.

If you are ever around Queensland we must play!

Hope this helps.

Great post mate... really good post in fact.

I also play golf twice a week and struggle on choice of cigar.

I just cant seem to do the two at once. I always feel a cigar needs my full attention... though I'm trying to make better selections so that I dont feel so bad if I happen to ignore my smoke.

I'll be in QLD in Sept. Brisbane, Gold Coast, Eumumdi and Noosa. Love to meet up with ya for a game and smoke if you are inclined.

Ah... finally a subject I know something about!!

What you bring to the course is subjective. If its a casual round I'll bring anything. If its a qualifier or a tournament I'll usually leave the CCs at home. Too much to concentrate on and no matter how good the smoke is its never enough to distract me from my game.

The only problem with that is that all I have now are CCs. Sucks to be us.

One thing I do strongly suggest is to always leave the band on! I've lost too many smokes when the band was off and I'd put it down in the grass to take a shot then look around and not be able to find it!

This is why I always use up the non Cubans on the golf course . . . and typically the lowest quality cigars in my humidor. Being in the U.S., it's easy for me to get plenty of low quality sticks :-P . This keeps my focus off of the cigar, and on the game.

Thanks for the tip!

I actually do it since that time when my caddy stepped on it :-( ...

I golf 2-4 times a week now. Usually smoke 4 cigars a round. I keep them smaller that Pyramid size just for fact of wind and flavor.

If the wind is out, it takes away from the other senses used when smokeing

Personally i am way too competitive to give a decent cigar the attention it deserves and I dont smoke bad cigars. I know I should probably just relax, smoke and not give a **** what # I put up but i just cant do that.

I play golf a couple times a week and smoke a cigar every time. I find that a Churchill or a Double Corona is the perfect size for golf because typically one cigar will last me the entire round. I played on Sunday and had a San Cristobal El Morro. When I played on Friday I had a Boli CG.

Email me when your coming.

As for choosing the quality of cigar, I have had a few of the best but also agree with some other comments, you really need time and a different environment to properly enjoy your favorates.

Hit them well guys!;-)

Cheers mate. Will do.

At this stage it seems like being about the 3rd week of September. I hope you're able to squeeze a round in sometime around there.

I'll see Lisa and Rob (and another cigar buddy of mine) the week before so will hopefully have some goodies for us to enjoy.

»Depending on your mood, the weather, the feeling for a certain cigar at the moment. Sometimes one is running short of Trinidads but dying to smoke one of them anyway, though you would love to save it for a better ocassion. My recurrent paradox.

P.s. I don´t like to smoke if it´s too windy, I´d rather avoid air currents while smoking to enjoy my cigar the best way possible.

Not bad Kilroy. What kind of handicap are we looking at there.

I used to play 3 times a week and worked the range and putting greens all 7. I have never smoked or drank on the golf course. Just a little promise I had made myself. Pretty stupid, right. I always walked and I didn't feel I could give golf or the cigar the attention they deseve. I now play once a month if I'm lucky, but still don't smoke or drink on the course. If I did it would have to be NC. I just can't imagine wasting a cuban on the course. If you can afford it though, why not. I was just an aprintice pro scraping by on $25,000 at the time. They were the good old days though.
