Greetings from South Africa/Spain

Hey all...

Decided to join after months of trolling :-D

I spend my time between South Africa and Spain, I love my Cuaba's, Por Larrañaga and Vegueros......

Looks like a great place to hang out, not too many snobs in here so that's always a good thing ;-)

One question....

El Presidente, what's with all these '07 boxes all over the place ?

Welcome Padrino!

I would say 90% of all stock currently coming in is 07. It is good to review young stock as an indicator to future potential and a guide to what is happening in the world of Habanos.

Welcome aboard :ok:

Thank you for the welcome Presidente :-) (and you too anacostiakat)

True what you say regarding young stock, although it makes me wonder how Habanos S.A. divide up their stock. In quite a few "cavas" in Madrid as well as the Airport Duty Free i've noticed the stock is mostly '05 and '06. It's rare to see an '07 box.

That is because they believe the 07 stock is superior and they reserve it for us :lookaround:

Which part of South Africa and Spain?

James, honestly that would be my pleasure. Sharing a great cigar and good food with a fellow enthusiast is a blast :-) You'll really enjoy Spain, it has the most amazing selection of cigars in shops owned by true cigar enthusiasts. The people are great ( as long as you don't act like a typical tourist :-D )

That performance against Russia surprised us all :lol2: we were all preparing ourselves for the usual "choke".

El Presidente - When in South Africa i'm in the capital city Pretoria, cigars here are a bit on the steep side with 45% tax on them. When in Spain (3 or 4 months of the year) i'm either with family in Oviedo which is in the Principality of Asturias or with friends in Madrid/Barcelona going crazy buying boxes of cigars :-D

You have a great forum here, very welcoming and free of pretension ( a rare thing these days). And that Por Larrañaga Regional release you stock is calling my name........ :hungry:
