We're not getting that much, but it's forecast to be wet all week. Hope it doesn't start rising again.

As JMH said - it's starting again down here - rising damp in my place is so great I almost believe I am 40 leagues under the sea

BTW, very gracious on the lack of Tah bashing following defeat on the weekend.

Also - your thoughts on Robbie Deans?

don't take the lack of tah bashing (and shouldn't that be one word?) personally - just been busy. and to be honest, never occured to me that they had a chance. that said, might have been a bit lucky to escape from the hunter alive. watched the game at a local pub with about 250 redneck tah fans and did much 'go the crusaders' and 'off, off' and 'he is okay but he is no george smith' whenever phil waugh went near the ball.

deans currently the leading rugby coach around as far as i can see. provided he has been locked in so he can't jump ship shortly before the next world cup, i have no problem. they can pick bin laden as coach if he wins gams for the wallabies.

locals will be aware that brizzy has been inundated of late with rain - after years of drought. at my place, there is a dry overgrown ditch outside which leads down to a pond that usually, not always, has a little water in it. i took these shots from the balcony the other morning, though the water had come down a foot or two at this stage.

at its peak, it was up to the little bare patch near the bottom of the photo.

what was really amazing was that ever since i have moved in, there was a large tree that had fallen over and been wedged against trees on either side of this creek. there was simply no possible way to move it downstream, except that during the night, it seems that the force of the water must have actually snapped it in two. extraordinary. it was racing along at such speed, i almost expected to see salmon jumping!
