dblones Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Recently a friend of mine purchased a Partags Culebras and gave it to me as a gift. The reasoning was, he stated it was interesting to see the intertwined cigars. There are three thin cigars twisted and intertwined. They are held together by the ring band and a ribbon in a single box. My question is this. How long should this be aged before smoking? Is it something that is worth smoking or should I leave it in the humi as a talking piece? Also, how would you smoke it? Do you cut the ribbon and attempt to untangle them or do you smoke all three together?
smokum Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 If they are the 07 production they were smoking real good now.Unwrap that crooked bastard and have 3 great smokes.
Mel Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Untangle them and smoke like three cigars. I heard they are being made again so they are not that rare any more, smoke em up. Hey if you do smoke them as one send pictures.;-)
Tampa1257 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 You are looking at one of the Newer Partagas Culebra's that is a Hand Made version. The complete box holds 3 of the cedar coffins which each contain one braid of three cigars. You only smoke a single at a time or ask 2 friends to join you. I have smoked the Handmade Culebra as well as the older machine made Culebra. It should smoke well now, or should you age it, it will get even better.

El Presidente Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Smoke away and enjoy :-) I don't find too much complexity in these but they are a tasty little number.

El Presidente Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 » I found them very complex...it may have been the acid I took though :-P I have a client/friend in Malaysia who once told me that he was not overly fussed with some Cohiba Siglo VI he received. Essentially lack of flavour. I said not to sweat it and I would replace the box. His reply "Don't be an idiot. I will just drill a hole lenghtwise in the middle of the cigar and pack it with mull. Makes every cigar pefect"
smokum Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 mull 3 (ml) n. A soft thin muslin used in dresses and for trimmings.

Well it was Malaysia, if you're going to stuff a muslim in your cigar that is probably the best place for it
