Official FOH Las Vegas Get-Together Thread - July 2008

Recommended Posts

Hi! I read through the previous post but feel like we need a clearer thread on this for people to post!

1) El Pres: can you please confirm the date on which we are going to meet up here in the desert?

2) Everyone who will (potentially or actually) attend post here so we can get a head count. Since I am in LV I can help coordinate a bit!

3) If attending also perhaps post where you are staying so people in the same hotel will know, and can hook up for some 'mini-herfs'.

Thanks!

I'll be there Ron (as will Kurtdesign1 - Craig)

Staying at Harahs (they had a killer deal, picked up two rooms for less than 1 at the Venetian where we were originally booked)

BTW - I assume we are still doing this at the Wynn.

There is not more smoking at Vegas restaurants anymore so we should try to make a reservation at a place with patio now but it will most likely be hotter than hades!

There is something wrong with the world when Las Vegas starts to go smoke free. The Rat Pack would all be rolling in their graves right now.

Hey ucmba,

I'll be at the Wynn July 14-17; I will not be using my usual alias, "Mr. Underhill". Count me in for any smoking opportunities. A friend at a local B&M may be able to sneak me in to the show and the CAO party, as I am not in the industry; we'll see.

You can still smoke on the casino floor or in resturants and bars adjoining the casino floor. Also Casa Fuente still allows smoking at the Forum Shops. :)

As I understood it, you can't smoke in any place that serves food. I assumed Casa Fuente would be exempt (love the Mojitos!)

"Due to new laws voted into existence by the residents in Jan 2007, the following smoking rules currently apply. All floor spaces inside ALL large casino (generally those casinos exceeding 15 slot machines), strip clubs and standalone bars not serving food are exempt from the law and smoking is permitted.

Restaurants inside casinos are non-smoking.

Nightclubs and lounges are not required to ban smoking as long as they do not serve food.

For all other stand alone restaurants, bars, convenience stores, grocery stores and airport facilities smoking is banned (by penalty of a $100-$600 ticket if caught) in all establishments which sell food other than prepackaged snacks.

This should be obvious in most places by the absence of ashtrays and the required clearly posted signs.

In many cases smoking areas may be provided outdoors, ask your server.

Smoking IS still permitted in any standalone bar or club (with or without gambling machines) which do NOT serve food."
