I had a great week reviewing Cohiba's and I want to thank all of the other Cohiba reviewers who gave me a hand. Lise will draw the Esplendido tomorrow for all those that submitted a review :-)

I smoked predominantly 06/07 stock throughout the week and was impressed by the quality. In my book there were 4 standouts and in the following order.

I was particularly stunned at how well the first three were smoking at such a young age. They have the necessary power and array of Cohiba flavours in a depth which will permit years of great ageing.

1 Cohiba Siglo IV

2. Cohiba Robusto

3. Cohiba Lancero

4. Cohiba Siglo VI

I have not personally conducted Maduro 5 reviews but I will see if I can fit a few in during theis "Bolivar " week.

The Maduro 5 reviews we did receive concerned me in the fact that I have enjoyed the Genios and Secretos. The Genios is a cigar I believe wil be a fantastic cigar in a few years while the Secretos has perhaps more variability than the two others. It can be a chocolate stick or a bitter stick.

I know these cigars are an acquired taste but the problems experienced are more blend issues unless I have read it wrong. I look forward to trying a few things with them and may get 3-4 Aussie members to try some tests with me of a fresh Maduro 5 out of a box and one held at 60% and slightly under for 2-3 days.

Overall I was impressed by the 06/07 Cohiba. The only cigars to let me down were Esplendido and Exquisito (perennial problem childs) while Siglo II was disappointing for the first time.

Now we move on to Bolivar. Please post your Bolivar reviews by Midnight Sunday 18th June and go into the draw for a Bolivar Corona Gigante ;-)

Dear Prez,

(Putting on my smartass hat) so according to your comments, if first prize is one Esplendido, would second prize be two Esplendidios?:-D

Hell, I would participate if there was no prize;-)

Hey Prez,

I checked my mailbox today for my Cohiba Esplendido and nothing! :-D Just curious if Lisa drew the winner yet and I missed it or are others also waiting with baited breath?
