I usually go to oporto during my vacations because i go north that time. the wine is great and the food is much better than Lisbon. If we go to the country its even better. My favorite oporto wine is labeled LBV (Quinta do Castelinho) for instance. Generaly all wines are great. Don't miss the cigar to get along.
Ken Gargett Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 tried an LBV from quinta do vale dona maria yesterday. excellent. over there went through them fromwineries like neipoort, taylors, fonseca and quite a few more. i think that the greatest wine regions to visit are back from oporto up the douro and also burgundy (and possibly champagne).
