Jimmy2
Double Corona No. 1 outstanding burnt my fingers that's how good it was. Worth the $20.00 I paid for it. I can not tell you how good this cigar was you must try one for your self.I hope the whole line is as good as the DC #1. Hope my cigar shop in NYC has some left going there on TUE. Prez you have one when you come to NYC in Feb a gift from me.
harwellplant
the few that i have had have been almost devoid of taste, and they were so loose it was like sucking on a straw.
gehrig24
I got nothing but spice out of the few I have had, nothing complex or even changing. I have tried the churchill and the belicoso so maybe that is why I do not share the positive experience. For the money they cost here in the US, I know a good place I can get top rated cubans for the same or much less;-)

Jimmy2
Mine was not loose and tasted great. And it tasted better than many Cubans i have smoked. Remeber guys all Cuban Cigars are not great alot of them suck too and overated I have been smoking for over 17 years and vets know you can not compare Cubans to non Cubans. Differant soils from other countries mean differant flavor period. These are nice tasting cigars $20.00 was a little over the hill i agree. But a another member here passed some info where i can get them for alot less. And i thank him very much. My collection is up to about 2,000 cigars which 80% are CC.But their are other NC that taste great to and Diamond Crown Maximus will be in the humi after today. harwellplant
But their are » other NC that taste great to and Diamond Crown Maximus will be in the humi » after today. i agree there are other nc's that taste great, and there are a number that i keep stocked in my humidors. still, i do NOT put the diamond crown line in that category. the ones i have tasted (and its substantially more than a few) have been one dimensional - if that - and have been constructed like a cardboard tube. i am saying that from experience, not based on some hooped up idea that all nc's pale in comparison to habanos. simply put, imho, the diamond crown line is not worth 1/2 of the money they charge for it. now, if you want to change my mind, i will give you my shipping address and you can try to do so - lol. harwellplant
nc's i stock in any appreciable number include fuente's hemingway line, ashton's vsg, the padron 1000 and anniversary lines, cao's brazilia, criollo and (in the early morning) gold lines, and a couple of rocky patel's vintages. there are some others, but these are the ones in my head. cc's to nc's are 9 to 1. El Presidente
Jimmy. I also have NC's in my home Humi. I do enjoy them as a change of pace. Padron Anny of various types. Original SLR blend OPUS Various Original Cupido Original Bahia Gold I haven't taken to Diamond Crown in the past but I will try again.
Spud2
The DCM I've tried were not worth the price. I find most cubans much more enjoyable for that kind of money. For NC the rest of the Fuente lines are more to my liking.

stevejb
I still smoke the occasional PAM principe but have smoked a handful of Deavidoff milleniums and extra vig robustos lately that have been very impressive. I like the reular Diamond Crowns. They come off very buttery. I can get you the Maxximus Dc's at $15 a stick, Jimmy.

Hell Harwellplant your just a cigar *****;-) What won't you smoke? I do like the Diamond Crown and have some aging. I do find them to high and not worth every penny. I do agree that not all cubans beat the Non cubans. I like the OpusX as well as any cigart on the planet. GoodTimes
I have had some premium NC's in my humidor for several years now...opus, padron anny's, etc. but I never want to smoke them. I always find myself going for the CC's. And while there may be some CC's that are not good, I have never had one of those, except if you count the one's that are plugged. I would take a cheap CC that cost around $8, like a BBF or a PSD4 over any premium NC that cost 3 times as much. But to each his own.

swl
To me the Maximus is a fuller earthier version of the regular DC. Still very smooth albeit at the expense of the buttery taste of the regular DC.

I've had Anejos and Opus sitting around for almost a year, but never tried one. Hell, CC's are easier to get anyway...
Vetteman
Diamond Crown construction is always excellent in my experience, but the regular line is too mild for my tastes. The Maximus is a decent smoke, but I was disappointed with the strength and of course price is an issue. There was a lot of positive comments about the prototypes of these, but it seems the blend may have changed a bit for production
thschrminm
I personally like the DCM line and enjoy the torpedo and the robusto the most from them... They have the nice smooth spice to them but it really has the flavor that I like in sungrown wrappers especially from the Fuentes line...
