Colt45 Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Construction: Firm but pliant, good weight with a nice bunch at the foot. A slight knot under the band. Wrapper: Medium colorado, a bit lumpy, leathery to the touch, no oils. Pre light draw / aroma: Aroma of light tobacco with a bit of perfume. Draw was very firm with some sweetness on the lips. Draw / Burn: Draw was firm early with good, but not great smoke volume. Burn excellent throughout. Taste: First puffs pure SduC - sweet spice, sandalwood, leather, a tinge of sweetness. Early smoke volume a bit wispy due to the firm draw, but some massaging opens this up, making for medium body at this point. A bit of raisin fruit makes a show, but the core remains sweet tobacco and spice. Finish is of rather dry cedar and is a bit short. As the first becomes the mid third, the finish lengthens, becoming "wetter", fruitier, as does the cigar overall. A core of leather, wood, and sweet spice, with a veneer of fruit on top - very nice. Draw continues to open, but remains just on the firm side of perfect. Burn to this point has been exemplary. Smoke volume very good. On the plus side of medium in body, with a fairly concentrated flavor delivery. At midpoint, there is a little back and forth between earthier tobacco with black pepper and it's earlier self, but overall it remains true to it's initial profile. Into the final third, it becomes darker, more intense. The tobacco more damp earth, the spice more black pepper, the fruit more high alcohol content amaretto. Still relatively smooth and well balanced, with all sensations playing off each other nicely. This trend continues to the end - damp earth, black pepper, a spicy finish - but never gets out of control. Excellent. Score: 90 Comments: Relative to the No.1 & No.3, I don't often hear much about the No.2, which is why I wanted to try a few. And while just one cigar, it certainly seems to deserve it's place in the line.
Lanthor Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 »Thanks for the review. I often wonder about this cigar. Have some '07 connie #3's that are fantastic. The #2, given my size preference, would be my next stop.
Evo03 Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Thanks for posting this review. I was looking around last night for a review of the Connie #2, but didn't find much. It sounds like a cigar I should try.
smokum Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Great review again Colt...I have 1,2 and 3...I love the 2 and 3...extra good cigar.
SmokinAl Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Nice job mate. I haven't had one of these in years. Based on your review though I'll fix that.

shrink Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Colt, you've got good taste in cigars. And this is a cigar that tastes good, too. The Series du Conn is one of the few smokes that I enjoy both young, and with a decade of age under their belts. It all depends on my mood. Sometimes I want to get smacked around a bit, and sometimes I prefer slow, smooth lovemaking.
wp2 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Great review Colt. Thanks for comments guys. I've been thinking about pulling the string on these, no more thinking, gonna do it.
greenpimp Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Nice review. I have really been enjoying a box from mid 2006. Good and strong and flavorful. Bob, get some help. The professional kind, probably of the other variety.

Tell me more about being "smacked around"
