BlackFriar Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Greetings all! My name is Chris and I have been smoking cigars for about the past ten years. While I have been a steady cigar smoker for the past five years, I have never been in a place long enough to really settle down, stock up or devote much time to actually appreciate what I smoke. I stumbled across FOH while doing a Google search on the packaging code for a box of “Choix Supremes.” What a great discovery to say the least. I have already gleaned some wonderful advice on curing humidification problems. While no longer in the military, I am now a civilian employee. On of the great joys of being in the military is the chance to serve abroad. My love of Habanos oddly enough started in Kosovo while dealing with the French. That first box of MONTECRISTO ESPECIAL No.2s hooked me from the start. Unfortunately, I was not able to smoke Habanos on a regular basis again until I moved to Seoul, South Korea. Other than greatly enjoying Habanos on the whole, I have never really sat down and deciphered the vocabulary associated with cigar tasting. So I cannot promise much in the way of a meaningful conversation with seasoned cigar smokers.

CelticBasque Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Welcome, Chris, from yet another Arizona-desert-dweller! I just met-up with a BOTL in Tombstone a few weeks ago and now it looks as if a short drive may be in order again in the future! Cheers, Sean Oh, and speaking of introductions, it was nice to meet (quite by surprise) StrayVector in Tucson a few weeks back as well!

Wow, it is truly a small world, never thought to meet so many avid cigar smokers in this part of the world. I would love a chance to get together in the near future with you and StrayVector. Out of curiosity, is there anywhere to smoke indoors in Tombstone? Chris.

Unfortunately, the new(er) smoking laws in AZ have just about cut-out most of the nice spots to enjoy your smokes indoors. The place I stopped at was a saloon with an outdoor patio. I think it was the four spades saloon or something with some relationship to card play... :-P Anyway, they had heaters around the outdoor patio but the barkeep wasn't quite able to get those heaters to function properly. In fact, yours truly didn't bring a sweater and was shivering for a time, as I'm sure you've already seen how the desert skies can open-up and let in the cold pretty quickly after sundown. I'm in for a daytrip to Tucson to fire-up some smokes with you and Sam. Just pick a date and I'll see if it'll work! :-)
