Cohiba Gran Corona 35th Anniversary Humidor Photos

» DC, my apology...i didn't read all the earlier threads. I just came to you

» to ask about the Serial Number becos a retailer has one w/o it. That's

» all.

»

» IMHO, i don't really care if they are official releases or not, as long as

» they are geniune Cuban smokes and taste great ! I thought that's the

» fundamental reason why we buy CC...becos they're great smokes !

»

» For example, those Partagas Aniversario Book humidors (available in La

» Casa of Partagas Factory) according to MRN is not official, but geniune

» releases...sort of grey areas i guess (LCDH allows 1 release outside of

» HSA every year). But these Partagas Aniversario are really fantastic

» smokes and that is what matters to me the most. What are the use if they

» are terrific smoke but official...not welcome by cigar smokers !

»

» Same as Hamlet's ! Are they official by HSA...not, but they are geniune

» Cuban tobacco and taste fantastic !

» Cigars are meant to be smoked. We are not museum ! :lol3: :lol3:

Fatty ;-)

I appreciate your sentiment, but no offense was taken. I agree with you completely. I have not tried the Partagas releases, but a friend just sent me a few of the latest Torpedos from last November. They look fun.

Cheers.

» At the risk of being accused of kissing up, let me just state that

» Don's attitude, along with others, is what makes this a great and

» unique forum. Thanks for taking the high road and increasing

» everyone's knowledge in the process. The less petty drama the better.

Soren -

I used to say I hated kiss up posts. I have a fresh perspective, now that I am an object of the kissing up. Please feel free to embellish!

Cheers.

» Don I have fired away a request for info from HSA

Thanks Rob.

From our mate at HSA

It was a part of the 2002 Special Series so it was an official release, and we started commercializing this back in January 2003, as I remembered.

They were made on the ocassion on the 35th aniversary of said brand. Only 100 cases, and being a product within the Special Series concept.

Comprising 50 Gran Coronas. the band features a special commemorative band to mark the anniversary.

Rob,

Thanks for running this down. I was still going to enjoy them no matter what the response, but this makes it all the more better!

Cheers,

DC

» I do not need your site to know these are real - or if not - truly incredible smokes, but Trevor, I am glad to send one to you if that might help you feel more confident!

Hi DC.

My comments above made no inference or suggestion that they were not "real".

I only said that may only be a non-commercial release. This is not to say that this item will not be reinstated if further information can be found. I certainly don't want to go through the "head kicking" exercise that is going on in another place.

There was also another 35 Anniversary release at the same Havana Festival, but I have not listed it either. It also contained Gran Coronas. This is on the Habanos website.

35th Anniversary of the Cohiba Brand.

The Cohiba brand is world-renowned and sought on all markets by those who love the best cigars in the world. In the 35 years since it was created, it has become a symbol of good taste, exquisite elegance and the distinctive taste of Habanos.

This humidor which was designed and made especially for the 35th anniversary of the Cohiba brand was made from mahogany and cedar, with silver decorations and accessories.

It contains 160 cigars; 25 Gran Corona Cohiba, vitolas made for special occasions, 25 Pirámides, vitolas created specially for the Reserve of the Millennium, 25 Espléndidos, 25 Robustos, 35 Lanceros, 5 Siglo I, 5 Siglo II, 5 Siglo III, 5 Siglo IV and 5 Siglo V. Each of the 35 Lanceros has a silver band portraying the head of the Indian.

On re-reading this thread, I see that I did not advise that following on from Robs information, this humidor was reinstated on the website

http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.asp...ersario_Humidor

MRN has also advised that the correct name of this release is Serie A Cohiba 35 Aniversario Humidor

100 made, not numbered. These Gran Coronas have a solid foot, distinguishing them from the Gran Coronas in the 2001 - Cohiba 35 Aniversario 135 cigar Humidor.

Thank you for the photo's Don!

You have done a fine thing for preservation of cigar history ;-)

terrific photos. to be honest, i'd like to help in the 'un-preservation' of those great cigars. any time. in fact, if you front up here with a couple, i'll have a word to rob and stanley and see if we can do them for a new video (might even be able to get a shot of you in the background, sans cigar of course).

Well I have to say: "I love the video reviews, you guys are a riot!" DC your photos are beautiful and I'm sure if you went and did a video review it would be outstanding and I'm sure Rob and Ken and you would make it an awesome Aussie experience :)
