Sandman Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I have posted this elsewhere but I wanted you all to see what I thought. Ok, so I just wanted to give my take on this cigar. These are obviously ROTT so these are preliminary thoughts. I did dry box this all day to dry it up a little. The first inch gave typical Upmann flavors but mixed with vanilla bean and cocoa. So right away this tastes like a combo of a Cohiba and Upmann. This lead to the Cohiba flavors leaving and the Upmann flavor coming back but with a nice sweet finish. At this point the cigar is tasting young as all hell. but enjoyable. The second third tasted almost exactly like my 07 Sir Winston's but with some interesting flavors coming through. Green pepper, wood and sweet cream. Full bodied, but medium strength. The final 1/2, 1/3 is where this cigar seems to excel. The strength picks up, more wood and cream flavor and a more pronounced Monte flavor coming through for the first time. Lots of pepper, cedar, cocoa and cream. Interesting to note that the cigar has not become acrid yet, but still has a "young" taste to it. The finish brings back strong pepper, hints of vanilla bean and sweet cream flavors, with the strength being on the strong side of medium. Overall, this is definitely a young cigar with lots of complexity and showing tons of promise for the future. I say it is worth the price as it shows high quality clean tobacco taste with very unique flavor that will surely improve with age. If you smoke one young, smoke it slow and give it all the opportunities to shine at such a young age. 92/100
shrink Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 » yep and only 600 boxes available. 900 of those 600 are already sold. That means that there are just 1200 more left.

But don't you see, you forgot about the 2400 they will produce next year, because they found out how popular they are this year.
El Presidente Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Nice review There is always an element of excitement when a cigar shows richness and complexity while young. You dream of what may be!
Cubatabaco Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I can't wait for my box! It should be here next week. Do you think they will be around next year? Shrink has a good point.

Tampa1257 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I just received one of these and the photos shown are nice, yet they just don't do the wrapper color justice in my opinion, I am going to bury the Edmundo Dantes 109 deep and certainly going to look forward to smoking it.
greenpimp Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I have a gorgeous box of these and a couple singles I'm really looking forward to. Trying to bury them.
Jimmy2 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I think these where made with plastic molds as you can see from the cap.
cadillacdoc Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 All 109 vitolas have a "rounded" cap. The partagas 155 109's and some Toboada custom 109's I have all have the same "rounded" cap.
Guest Robusto 107 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Post a few pics here. Dark and oily wrapper, conical head, but very high price. I just buy some sampler and spend me more than a box of BGM. mg]img/uploaded/image4756.jpg[/img]
cadillacdoc Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I made a few pictures of these sticks for "educational" purposes. The Partagas 155 109's and a few custom Toboada "shaggy" 109 grande's. A closer look at the cap. I'll be off work next week and will torch one and post a review.
