Colt45
Construction: Looked and felt very nice. No obvious flaws of any kind. Wrapper: Very deep colorado - one of the darkest Havanas I can recall smoking. Some obvious veining. Very smooth, but not oily. Draw: Very nice draw - properly firm, with excellent smoke volume. Very good burn. Taste: Started out with a bit of sweet spice and a dense creaminess - not cream as in Montecristo coffee and cream, but more of the sensation of heavy whipped cream, or of a neutral flavored gelato. This was really more of a mouthfeel sensation than a flavor per se, which lasted for the duration. Intermingled throughout were hints of sweet spice, and elements of cooked yellow raisins. About midpoint, it started to show more earthiness and rich tobacco, though the rich creamy mouthfeel remained. In the last third, it started to show a minty quality that was not bitter, but just a tad sharp. Overall this was quite a full bodied cigar, with no harshness, though perhaps just a few slightly rough edges. Flavorful and nicely complex. Very, very enjoyable. If pressed for a rating, 89 - though given the following, I'm sure that will change.... Now my admission: We've all heard the term "right off the truck" well, this one was smoked within two hours of coming off said truck. I'd never done it before, and thought I'd try a little experiment. I'm not disappointed, but perhaps in this case, feel a bit lucky.
anacostiakat
Nice review. I have tried one out of an OCT03 box that I thought was fantastic. It was the first one I have ever had as well. Wish I had more. :-( I really enjoyed it and Punch being one of the lines I have not smoked a lot of, this really peaked my interest.

shrink
You are lucky, Colt. Life has been good to you... The RS#12 is (or at least used to be) a cigar that needed quite a few years to mellow it's leathery soul. In this size, I much prefer the Petit Coronas del Punch, but an aged RS#12 has an interesting, more astringent quality, which reminds me a bit of the SS#2. A good, strong PC. Colt45
» You are lucky, Colt. Life has been good to you... » It's the clean living...... Shrink, if I were a betting man, I'd think that were I to try another in a week, it would probably be shut down, but one never knows. How would you describe the PC del P?
