Wow. I'm speechless. Tim's right. Somebody is buying these either for themselves or for gifts. I wonder what strain of tobacco they're using or even if these are composed of cigar tobacco at all.

Thank you, Colt; those are priceless.

Was the blackout to protect the innocent or to avoid the inevitable lawsuit?

Now we know where those eBay glass tops come from; where were those taken?

:-D

Dave, the pics were posted about a year ago by a new member - who didn't stick around long.

He may have been a bit embarrased, I don't know. I blacked out his face as I'm not trying to belittle him.

He posted that the pics were taken on somewhere on the Yucatan peninsula.

It looks like the perfect store, buy yourself some great fresh habanos, then placate your wife/gf with a nice new dress or bag

That is indeed classic. You should have at least held one and got your picture taken with them like Colt's pix. Great!

Dave

The first time I walked downtown San Jose, Costa Rica, with my wife, I was propositioned by a hooker(to my Costa Rican-American wife's shock) and by a suave cigar selling pimp. Ah,the pleasures of life in the free-market world.

The cigar selling men in the area in front of the National Theater all had the glass-top boxes of Cohibas that stank of fugazzy fakery. At least the woman offered value for money!

Thanks Dave. I have no idea why I am travelling around looking at Cigar Divans when you have just posted the exact look that I am looking for in my next store.

It has an edgy classiness ;-)

In April 2007 I was fortunate enough to visit Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S, with my family. We took a day trip about 1 hour north to Todos Santos, an artsy community on the Pacific Coast. It was there that I spied this official looking outlet for habanos.

image4220.jpg

For those who have never been there, the climate is pure desert with about 10% relative humidity on any given day. Anyway, there on the porch on a display table shaded from the sun I encountered the holy grail, a glass top Cohiba Torpedos 5 pack.

image4221.jpg

I couldn't bring myself to ask the price as I knew this would result in endless haggling in fractured Spanish. As I stood there admiring the specimen a few things occured to me:

Cohiba doesn't come in glass top containers...

I have never heard of Cohiba Torpedos...

Cohiba did make Piramides but they were limited editions...

That Indian head is sort of off-center...

Those cigars are in cellophane wrappers...

How come the bands have a gold "Cohiba" but say "La Habana, Cuba" instead of "Habana, Cuba"???

And why do the first 4 bands have 2 rows of dots and the last one has 3 rows above the Cohiba???

I resisted buying them, but I realize now they may have made a fascinating dissection project.

;-)
