From today's Cigar Insider......

You know, ever time I read a review in CA or CI, I wonder why they can't write in-depth reviews. Cigar reviewing is their business. And these little snippets are almost embarassing. Does two sentences even constitute a review? I disagree often enough to not even give these reviews all that much credibility anyway. The reviews on this board are much more valuable to me. I appreciate El Prez and FOH members for the time taken to write serious cigar reviews.

An attractive little cigar that offers complex flavors from

coffee and leather to almonds and caramel. A very rich

smoke, especially for such a small cigar.

Although this dark cigar burns a tad unevenly, it is rich

with coffee, nut and leather notes balanced by a touch

of sweetness and a cedary finish.

A good-looking robusto that emanates a spicy aroma as

it burns. It is significantly earthy and spicy with leather

and wood notes that culminate in a spicy finish.

one way to let them know what you think is not to subscribe. they do seem tough scores. i suppose an alternative view is never a bad thing.

No problem with the scores Ken. They seem fair from what I have experienced although I certainly would have scored the Genios higher than the Selectos but that is just personal opinion.

The gripe I have is how do you review a cigar (good or bad) in 30 words or less?

the genios was certainly the one i was thinking about as well. suppose it all depends on what you say. as much as parker may hate it, with wine, many just look at his score alone and there's the review.

They may feel less threatened by the size of the Secretos. ;-)
