Seige at the Red Mosque in Islamabad

Recommended Posts

shrink, many years ago i spent a few days wandering near here, lahore etc. bit hot - 53C max, which was unbelievable, but amazing region then. locals could not have been more hospitable. they'd see a foreigner and want to share water or whatever they had to make sure i was okay. further north near the afghan border, we'd be invited into the tents (even occasionally given guns to fire for fun) and met members of the muhujaden (sorry for the spelling) who were fighting the russians. also guys from yale trying to stop the laying of land mines. i found it a wonderful and fascinating place but buggered if i'd go near there now.

I think you're being unfair, Prez. Ken's visit coincided with an explosion of prostitution in Islamabad that set the Islamists on a rampage. See:

» Anybody else disturbed by the images from Islamabad?

Shrink- I’m almost afraid to answer from your perspective, but disturbed I am. Not exactly Father Murphy’s clerical robes.

Please clarify, what gender were the prostitutes? :lookaround:

Ken- It’s clear you’re not a techno savant, but have you heard of a little app called “Spell Check”?
