NFC East Report

By Dale Sims & Kurt Schumacher

________________________________________

This may be the toughest division in the NFC; all of the teams could be dangerous to the rest of the division but any one of them could easily end up being most dangerous to themselves. They play the NFC North and the AFC East, which will present some unevenness depending upon the home and away breakdown, Dallas for example catches both New England and the Jets at home. Dallas has the talent edge in the division particularly on defense, which gives them the nod in our 2007 NFC East preview, but there are many things that could go wrong (or right) with any or all of these teams.

Dallas 13-3 :ok:

Philadelphia 10-6

Washington 6-10

New York Giants 5-11

» I am a big Cowboys fan but 13-3 seems a bit crazy with that schedule.

» 11-5, 10-6 if Romo can hold on to a snap for field goal attempts.

I agree. This division is just nasty. The Eagles have come back to the pack, the Cowboys are better and the Giants are dangerous. Cowboys finish with a 13-3 record? Okay, and El Prez is going to have a 1/2 price sale on all robustos. That's right, it ain't happening.

Cowboys may win the division, but not with a 13-3 record. Agree with gegrig24, 11-5 or 10-6 sounds about right.

Philly 10-6? Since when did Rob start selling crack?

The Eagles have a easy schedule with exceptions of playing New England and Chicago.

But they will be too one-dimensional on offense with the running game.

They go 8-8.

The New York Football Giants lost Tiki but went from the toughest schedule in the league to a more manageable one. Love Jacobs but not sure he can carry the load.

This is probably the last year of the Eli experiment. If he steps up The Jints win the East. If not it's another 8-8.

Dallas is still the favorite to win the division at 11-5.

Poor Redskins (screw 'em) are rebuilding at 6-10.

If you think the Eagles will stick with the running game, you are surely mistaken; Andy Reid loves to throw the football. They ran the ball more with Garcia, but that was because he was a backup and the Eagles were not sure how much of the offense Garcia could handle.

Eagles at 8-8 is way too low. I think a more realistic number is 10-6, maybe 11-5. The division is much tougher, but the Eagles are still a very good team.

One thing to consider in all of this is the health (or lack thereof ) of Donovan McNabb. I believe he has missed part of the last 3 seasons. If he is healthy the Eagles could be a strong contender for the NFC Championship.

Just my .02¢

» Im sorry to break this to you, but 08 will belong to 49ers

i would LOVE to place a bet with you on this one!!

Call it $100.00 credit paid to Cigar Czar, for the winner to use towards a box of their choice..

The bet : The Eagles have a better record at the end of the year then the 49ers..

If anyone else here wants to bet that their team will have a better record then Philly, let me know.. I will determine if I want to place ANOTHER bet on my Birds... Are they gonna win the SuperBowl??? HELL NO! Are they going to have a better "regular-season" record then most teams, of course! (Dam, if we could only win a championship!)

That's ANOTHER bet i would love to take...

How confident are you in BOTH of those ridiculous statements?

I will bet you the same $100.00 paid to Cigar Czar for the winner to buy cigars of their choice, that EACH of those statements are false...

Thats $200.00 you stand to win or lose, with two different bets!

If you REALLY think Philly goes 8-8 or worse, bet me!

If you REALLY think Dallas goes 11-5 or better, bet me!

You SOUND confident, lets see how confident you REALLY are!

We can do a 5pack on the Jets - Eagles....I am not giving any odds since you think the Eagles will win outright but the Jets should be favored by 3.5 points. Someone has to take you up on one of the bets, right?

I'll take the J-E-T-S... JETS! JETS! JETS! STRAIGHT UP; NO POINTS!

Forget the 5-pack. What say you man up and bet a box of Cohiba Robustos, payable before the Christmas Holidays to the winner. I'll take the Jets and you take the Pigeons... err, Eagles... :-D

i assume you are prepared to put cigars where thier mouths are or are you a non-believer?
