love to ehar how they went what else emerged. half your luck. love to get acorss there and as for the cask, even that was wasted on rob and as posted elsewhere, it was still way better tahn the sad, tired aged rose he drank.

Nice line up Jimmy. Sorry to hear the Barolo were not quite up to snuff. Do you think

they were past their peak, or is nebbiolo just not your cup of tea?

With an older wine i think its hit or miss.

You have to cross your fingers its had a long journey.

I think they were past there prime there really did not open up and at some point they closed down real fast.

Shame - definitely sounds like they were over the hill or suffered from storage at

some point in time.

I've not tried any top tier barolo or barbaresco (I have had the misfortune of sipping

a flawed "entry level" barolo), but everything I've read indicates they can be some of

the longest living wines to be had.

I do enjoy some relatively inexpensive Langhe nebbiolo blends, but admit I'm more

of a fan of brunello and rosso di montalcino.

Thanks again for sharing the experience.
