shrink Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Does anybody know why we don't see any Upmann Sir Winstons any younger than 2003? I've heard some opinions, but I don't know the facts. Any truth to this... Since the Sir Winstons are the Upmann flagship, and need at least several years to show at their best, Habanos, S.A. ages them several years before releasing them to the the distributors.

Never heard that. But mine are '03s.
Well Armed Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I just asked the same question on another board bob. I have not seen a box of SW's from '04/5/6/7 and it perplexes me. I'm not compplaining 'cause the '03 SW's are awesome. It's just strange.
BigSlick Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Seems to be the same with RASS and PSD4's. Perhaps they are being horded because they kick ass aged? Probably.

El Presidente Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 I have no idea Bob. Share your theory with us but I will shoot away an e-mail to HSA Monday.

Another vendor has "H.Upmann Sir Winston Box 25 NJP JUL 06"
shrink Posted June 9, 2007 Author Posted June 9, 2007 Another vendor has "H.Upmann Sir Winston Box 25 NJP JUL 06" Yes, a well-known vendor, too. This supports the theory that SW's are released every three years. But evidently they are not aged three years before release. I would certainly be interested in reading a review of these recently released '06s, to see how the aged tobaccos influence the approachability of this classic. Rob?
Well Armed Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Rob's life is tough - having to be our guinnea pig. Can I take over?
Professor Twain Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Yet another vendor shows 01s for sale, so they don't appear to be just on an 03-06 etc. cycle.
