Sorry guys, no codes - As it was pre-'06, and earlier were long gone, I'll say '05.

Great construction, a medium brown wrapper with the slightest red tinge and quite

the sheen. Draw, burn, and smoke volume all perfect.

A dark, full bodied cigar. Early hints of browned butter, but the overwhelming flavor

was of sweetly earthy, deep rich tobacco. A one time blast of salt right at the halfway

point, becoming lightly peppery near the end.

Not very complex, but deeply satisfying in the way of a perfectly grilled steak with a

side of seared tuna. In my opinion, a long way to go before reaching full potential.

Great cigar.

I'd love to hear any comments on '06s.

Hello Colt I do have a cab of the 06 and I'm on them. Some may say they are to young to smoke but if I like them then it's a done deal. Very full bodied bold smoke with flavors of burnt caramel and earth. They draw and burn very well and I have had another cab set back at the Czar house. Lisa knows I liike these and lets me know when they are available.

I like the 06's quite a bit even though they obviuosly need time they are smoking great right now. One of the better "out of the box" smokes I've had from 06.

FYI That blast of salt 1/2 way through was that little nest of beetle eggs hiding there.......LOL

The '01s I've sampled have been among the best PC's I've ever smoked. Right up there with aged Bolivars and Punch, IMO.

I only smoked one from my early '06 box, but it really impressed me with its strength and potential. Since I don't have any aged ones, I'm hoping to have the patience to leave 'em alone for at least another couple years.

Hmmm... maybe I'll get another box. :-)

06's have been great. Rich lush cigars of the highest order. Nice caramel core on some. Will age superbly.

Will try an 07 shortly.

colt, got a cab of '05s from rob (remember him saying they looked like the best he'd ever seen - i bet he says that to all the boys). back then, split 20 for smoking over the next few years and 30 for deep storage. the 20 were so good they lasted about 8 days. have kept fingers off the rest, been tough, but can't wait.

Thanks for the response, guys. The first from this batch of singles, tried a year+ ago,

was nice, with the caramel notes often associated with this cigar. They quickly shut

down, as the next couple were rather sharp and disjointed. This latest has come back

with a vengeance.

Of course, I now only have a few singles left, and will have to start the process over

again :lol2:

Carlos, my camera does not have macro capability, but I'll try in the future.

Nice Review!

My cab from '06 is from April I believe. They were just "so-so" when I first started smoking 'em. I had one a couple of weeks ago and it was very good. Rich, complex, and quite a bit of power. It will be tough to keep my hands off them!

to be fair, all it really means is that you can't fight the law of averages all your life.
