Ken Gargett Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Had not had one for a while so really looking forward to this. Code is Nov 04. The wrapper had the appearance of a well used old footy and the smell, cold, while quite muted, had hints of locker room and leather. Construction looked good. They really offer a sense of anticipation. When lit, the power is immediately apparent. Lots of earth, touch of toast and campfire. Quite concentrated and hints of a smoky sausage note. These are ‘no shrinking violet’. Flavours settled quickly and despite the power, also balance and complexity and even some subtlety. There is spice and earth and coffee grinds and that smoky sausage/salami character developed. The power really kicked in for the last third and the flavours got quite nutty. Took about an hour and a half. Usually expect closer to 2 hours with these and while this was a seriously good smoke, it was not the absolute top of the SLR DC tree. 92.
El Presidente Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 You really are a SLR DC ***** I have to agree with you Ken.....there is no better regular production DC out there.
