Colt45
A few years ago, this is a format I would have never given a second look. I love Julieta 2s (though a number of years ago I rarely smoked these), and corona gordas. I used to smoke a lot of piramides and campanas, though fewer now. But today, if pressed, It wouldn't hurt me to say that the dalia is a favorite format - classic and austerely elegant. Of course, there are only a few Havanas now made in this size, but maybe some day we'll see more. I can thank members who, for some time, have extolled the virtues of this format. shrink
For me the dalia is the ideal medium-sized format. It is ergonomically and aesthetically pleasing. It has all the elegance of a lonsdale, but is much less likely to exhibit plugs and bad draws. Its relatively smaller ring size demands a more patient, relaxed style of smoking that tends to highlight subtle flavors and reveal underlying complexities. And, when smoked in this fashion, it lasts almost as long as a Julieta.

If there were a cigar named the "Black Dalia", it would naturally enough be a Fuente Anejo. Alas, there is none. I think that "L.A. Confidential" was his best work. Unfortunately, one of the finest examples of the dalia(IMHO), is no longer in production. The RA 8-9-8.
