Name's Heath, been smoking cigars for about three years now, and I'm looking forward to reading and posting here from time to time. Looks like a very friendly community. Oh, about the subject line: if you can complete the lyric, "Beers, Steers, and...," then not only do you have a pretty good idea of where I'm from (the band called my town home, too), but we clearly have some musical tastes in common! Thanks to all for the welcome! Yep, I'm a big NE fan, as well as Mike Paradinas. As for collecting, I'm a recovering vinyl-aholic...but that largely has to do with having worked as a freelance music journalist for nine years. In that time I managed to amass quite a few records. For a while, I was a completist collector for New Order, Aphex Twin, The Orb/BadOrb, Autechre, and a few small-run labels like Mad Monkey, Obliq, Ant-zen/Hymen, etc. And don't get me started about Brubeck Trio and Brubeck-Desmond rarities on the Fantasy imprint.
