Colt45
I love the grape and the wines from the region. Usually softer and rounder than wines from other regions in Italy, but retaining the astringent tannins I associate with Italian wines. (I'm sipping some at the moment :-) ) I love Italy even though I've never been, and think it would be a great country for the FOH world wide get together (no, I'm not inebriated). Couple this with the fact that the Red Sox were down 6 to 2 in the 8th, but came back to win 7-6 (sorry, not trying to bust nuts), and the weekend is starting out right. I raise my glass to all who've had a difficult week.
Ken Gargett
spent the last two weeks moving (still to find somewhere to go - have lobbed at my mother's beach house for a while - and no, she is not there) and then doing my taxes. nightmare. finally a chance to enjoy a few smokes (and won't mum cut off the cods when she finds i have been smoking cigars indoors). they've never tasted better. and i am also a fan of montepulciano but don't see enough. Not really related to d'Abruzzo, but Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is also a fantastic wine, which I enjoyed a half bottle tonight. I do also enjoy d'Abruzzo. Oh, I can SO relate to that feeling of elation at the comeback victory and the ensuing others... (with that little hiccup on Saturday night! ;-) ). And I highly recommend a trip or two to Italy soon! Drinking the wines (and eating the greatest of food) on location is so nice! I'm a big fan of Italian reds too, although I'd love to see some of the super Tuscans drop a tad in price if possible. But then again, I'm sure our dollar isn't going to allow that. I like the Avignonesi as well. Secco Bertani Valpo is quite nice too. Go Sox!
