  1. » okay, definitely last go to get it all in. » » Wow... Phenomenal trip! What patterns were you using - for the bones and the GTrevally? I bet that 'hoo was a blast on fly! Way to go!
  2. » I love the grape and the wines from the region. Usually softer and rounder » than » wines from other regions in Italy, but retaining the astringent tannins I » associate » with Italian wines. (I'm sipping some at the moment :-) ) » I love Italy even though I've never been, and think it would be a great » country for » the FOH world wide get together (no, I'm not inebriated). » Couple this with the fact that the Red Sox were down 6 to 2 in the 8th, » but came » back to win 7-6 (sorry, not trying to bust nuts), and the weekend is » starting out right. » I raise my glass to all who've had a difficult week. Oh, I can SO relate to that feeling of elation at the comeback victory and the ensuing others... (with that little hiccup on Saturday night! ;-) ). And I highly recommend a trip or two to Italy soon! Drinking the wines (and eating the greatest of food) on location is so nice! I'm a big fan of Italian reds too, although I'd love to see some of the super Tuscans drop a tad in price if possible. But then again, I'm sure our dollar isn't going to allow that. I like the Avignonesi as well. Secco Bertani Valpo is quite nice too. Go Sox!
  3. Very interesting... I literally thought this was a spoof at first. Being in the states, I am used to so many maddies that are more of a guise to make up for a lack of flavor. I never expected to see one come out of Cohiba. One of the last issues of European Cigar Cult Magazine ran a bunch of reviews of maduros and it made me wonder if there is a real taste for these in Europe as well - mostly for the novelty factor. I think PAM's are a nice smoke, I'm just still shocked to see a CC maduro in the works.
  4. This picture is from a few months ago... I've got the same unit and I echo the Heartfelt beads method. I have been using mine in two different cedar boxes (from some fine Saint Jacques cigars :-D ). The one thing I did notice BIG TIME was the fact that if you use your cooler to cool (in the Summer months), you will need to make sure to NOT block the fan in the upper center of the unit. I did and got some condensate pooling in the bottom of my cooler as well as making one of my cedar trays wet in the corner and junking a NICE SCDLH. So, learn from my stupidity and keep that thing clear. I also removed a rack or two to make sure there was more room and so I didn't have to balance anything on the wavy wine racks.
  5. What a class act. A stellar and unique gift for someone who will appreciate it and understand it. Doesn't get better than that.
  6. That's cool news. Bands. No bands. I DIG this smoke. Had a nice one yesterday while driving around and trying to avoid posting in the Cigar Blooper thread
  7. Nice review and thanks for the good news. I had almost written this stick off over the last couple of years because of so many sub-par smokes. Your post gave me a glimmer of hope. These were one of the first Cubans I smoked years ago and I really liked them. I thought my palate had changed, but it became clear that they just had a dip in quality. One more to add back to the list!
  8. » GTS, Ya gotta do a review of one of these! With pics please. First off... WOW. Speechless. There is just nothing like seeing CC's I've only read about. Secondly... I agree, a review with photos would be something! Way to go!
  9. TT, welcome from a fellow "noob" over here. Give a shout to your buddy Jim for me. Andy
  10. Daaaaammmmn, nice Red's! Did you catch them on live bait or artificial? This photo is one of the nice ones I caught in Pine Island Sound on the West Coast of FL a few years ago. I think this one was caught on a chunk of ladyfish. I've been working WAY too hard these last two years. I need to have me one of those Fridays like you did! Congratulations!

  12. » » Me. Smoking a Taboada in the LCdH Tijuana. Welcome back... looks like you are enjoying a moment you dreamed of!
  13. . Carlos, Carlos, Carlos... Dude. You're killing me! This is a forum dedicated to stellar Cuban cigars... You just can't come on in pimping brands out of Miami Lakes, bro. That's like comparing a Zebco 202 pushbutton reel to a Tibor made out of solid barstock aluminum... I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of guys on this forum have ALREADY worked our way through 100's of Non-Cuban cigars. That's why we're HERE. Now the tostada and the cafe con leche rocks... :-D :-D
  14. » » Very nice! Thanks for going to all the effort to do this. » » Its a labour of Love » » Just a short note to thank everyone for their kind comments & » suggestions. » » I have now done a complete site check and it should now be 99% correct and » 97% up to date. Hope to be finalised by end of year, and then will keep it » up to date. Any suggestions or corrections welcome. » » PS. The next section to be added is Tobacco, as it relates to cigar » understanding and appreciation. A rough outline is already on the website. » » » Thanks again, Trevor. [link]http://CubanCigarWebsite.com[/link] FANTASTIC site. Great reference, great facts, obviously took a ton of work. Best of luck! Andy
